Norwich Canoe Club has links with many schools, some of whom come and paddle as part of their school games, others who come for after schools clubs or for activities weeks in the summer.
The club visits schools throughout the year and talks to the pupils about sprint and marathon kayaking and then many of the pupils and teachers take part in a 30m ergo challenge and afterwards the club invites them to have a go on the water in an after schools club.
Every year around 1000 pupils take part in the NCC 30 m ergo challenge, many of them at the Royal Norfolk Show where the club has a stand for 2 days.
There is a session for all the schools one morning a week before school where the younger juniors learn good paddle technique.
These are the schools that have paddled at the club in 2016: Many of their pupils are now club members and come and paddle with the club on club sessions.
